Pakistan vs New Zealand 1st Test: Match Analysis and Live Score Information

One of the most exciting and nail biting test series is going to be played between New Zealand and Pakistan. This test series will start with the opening match from 24th November, 2009. Fans around the world are eagerly waiting to see this game live. You should know that only one day is left to start this game. It is scheduled to start at 23:00 GMT (12:00 local time). These two old foes will take on each other at the University Oval, Dunedin. Both teams are going to play their first test match after the end of ICC Champions Trophy.

This is a revenge game for Pakistan cricket team. You may ask me why I am mentioning it as revenge game. You should know that Pakistan lost to New Zealand in the ICC Champions Trophy and for their defeat they could not move to the final round. However, they failed to defeat New Zealand team in their home ODI series. It is thought that test series is a big opportunity for them to reduce their pain. However, Pakistan cricket team played a practice match against New Zealand Invitation XI. Their match was drawn. However, New Zealand is always strongest contestant in their home ground. Pakistan is hoping to face a tough challenge.

Pakistan cricket team is passing a tough time. They had very poor performance in their previous game. Even they could not win any test series this year. That is why, this test series is an acid test for new Pakistan skipper Mohammad Yousuf. Both teams are looking for consistency. New Zealand cricket team will play without their regular coach. Coach Andy Moles forced to take resign after because of player criticism. Daniel Vettori will work as both captain and coach. On the other hand, Pakistan cricket team will not get Younis Khan’s service in this test. Younis Khan opted out his name to take rest. Pakistan middle order batsman Misbah-ul-Haq was taken as the replacement of Younis Khan.

Both Pakistan and New Zealand are not in good position in the ICC Test ranking. Pakistan is in the sixth position where New Zealand respectively standing in the seventh position. They should struggle hard to get a victory to develop their ranking.

Batting line up is perhaps the main problem for Pakistan cricket team. As I earlier stated you that Pakistan cricket team will miss Younis Khan in this tour series because he took rest to get back his form. However, Pakistan cricket team may recall Imran Farhat to make strong opening line up. Mohammad Yousuf will have to keep an important role in this series. Another good news is that Pakistan’s speed spearhead Mohammad Asif has been selected for this series. His destructive bowling action can destroy the opponent team. However, New Zealand’s best fast bowler Shane Bond has got chance to play against Pakistan. After a long time, he can play for his team.

No doubt, it will be a closely competitive match. Both teams have equal chance to win the series. As a host team, New Zealand should want to demolish them.
