Power looms owners stage protest in Faisalabad

FAISALABAD: The owners and the workers of power looms industry Friday observed partial demo strike in Faisalabad for registration of their protest against rising thread prices, meanwhile, they have also announced to hold demo rallies all across city on Saturday, Geo news reported. According to sources, due to unabated hike in thread prices used as raw material, the power looms crisis has got intensified in city. Owners and workers associated with power looms sector said the export of raw thread material has resulted in increase in thread prices throughout country, while industry has faced closure of as many as 50,000 power looms due to decline in cloth demand in country, sources said.
